Bank offering up to $100K reward
Bank of America is offering up to $100,000 for information leading to the arrest of a group of men that has been robbing banks in Orange County, including one in Newport Beach in April, the FBI announced Tuesday.
The FBI has dubbed the group of robbers the 20 Questions Bandits, because in one of their first robberies they asked bank employees a lot of questions. The heists are typically violent, takeover-style robberies, where the robbers rush in with guns and jump over to the tellers’ side of the bank, authorities said. In some instances, they’ve hit employees.
The robbers’ most recent hit was at a Bank of America in Newport Beach on April 2. No injuries were reported in that incident.
Anyone with information regarding the robberies or the men are asked to call (888) CANT-HIDE or (888) 226-8443.
