Patricia Hatfield Lillegraven

Patricia (Patty) Lillegraven,

entered this life in Chicago,

Illinois on June 27, 1927,

the daughter of Grace and

Thomas Thompson. She entered eternal life on April

23, 2010 in Rancho Mirage, California, following a brief

illness. Her death was peaceful, surrounded by her

closest family.

Patty lived on Balboa Island with her husband, Ben,

and they spent winters in Rancho Mirage, California

playing golf and enjoying the ambience of the desert.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years,

Ben, two daughters, Patty Sue and Lisa Grace, and

six grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister,

Suelinda. She was preceded in death by her parents

and her daughter Nancy Evans.

Patty earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the

University of California, Irvine, and was active among

local artists for many years. She owned the Afternoon

Gallery that was located on Balboa Island which was a

source of pride and fulfillment.

Patty was a member of the Newport Beach

Friends of the Library, served as President and held

other positions on the Board of Directors. She was also

active in the Episcopal Church for many years.

She was a dedicated member of the Glenbard

High School Class of 1944 in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. She

took pride in being editor of the class newsletter

and worked tirelessly to have the most professional

newsletter possible.

A family graveside memorial service was held on

April 26, 2010 at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona

del Mar, California with the Very Rev’d Canon Peter D.

Haynes of St. Michael and All Angels officiating.
