COSTA MESA — Estancia High senior pitcher Ryan Boselo produced a no-hitter in a 5-0 Orange Coast League win over visiting Godinez Tuesday.
Boselo struck out 11, walked two and hit two batters. One Godinez hitter reached on an error.
It was the first no-hitter that took place in Estancia Coach Matt Sorensen’s three years with the program.
“He got ahead in the count,” Sorensen said of Boselo. “He dominated with his fastball. Striking out 11 is huge. There really was only one ball hit hard, out to center field.”
Sorensen said pro scouts as well as NCAA Division I team representatives have been inquiring about Boselo. Sorensen said Boselo’s fastball reaches 90 mph.
