COSTA MESA — The Mustangs’ No. 1 singles Alex Adams swept, 6-0, 6-4, 6-0, in the Orange Coast League game Thursday at Estancia High.

The No. 1 doubles team of Sam Borkton and Dave Cornelius swept for Estancia (4-8, 2-2 in league). Eagles’ No. 2 singles Robert Marrone won his last set against Mesa’s No. 3 to tie the team score, 9-9.

NEWPORT BEACH — The Sailors’ Brandon Peters swept at No. 3 singles in the Sunset League match Thursday.

The No. 1 doubles team of Jason Cernius and Troy Arnold, as well as the No. 2 doubles team of Craig McKennon and Greg Brostek both swept for Newport (7-5 3-2 in league).

CORONA DEL MAR — Alex Murray and Carter Wheatley swept in doubles for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League match Thursday.

Senior David Vu won 6-3 in singles for CdM (13-1, 5-1 in league).

DIVING

Newport Harbor High junior Clay Pinckney broke the Sunset League diving score record at the season’s second CIF Southern Section qualifying meet Wednesday.

Pinckney earned 551.10 points, earning a personal-best score.

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Cody Caldwell had 13 kills in the Sailors’ 25-19, 25-9, 25-20 Sunset League win Thursday.

Jackson Carmack had 38 assists and seven digs for Newport Harbor (9-6, 3-1 in league). Rusty Sary had 11 kills and seven digs, Zack Martin had seven kills and John MacBeth added three kills for the Sailors, who will play in the two-day Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions, starting today.

CORONA DEL MAR — Jaycee Olsen won three events for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League meet Thursday.

Olsen won the 100 meters in 13 seconds, the shot put with a mark of 37 feet, 1 inch and the discus with a 127-4 throw.

Sarah Keddington (1:00.5 in the 400 and 15-4 1/2 in the long jump) and Melanie Powers (2:23.2 in the 800 and 5:03.2 in the 1,600) won two events each for CdM.

CORONA DEL MAR — Brent Gray, Blake Myers and Austin Blodgett won two events each for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League meet Thursday.

Gray won the 100 meters in 11.1 seconds and the 200 in 22.8. Myers took first in the 800 in 2:08.3 and the 1,600 in 4:38.3. Blodgett won the 110 high hurdles in 15.3 and the 300 intermediate hurdles in 41.5.

COSTA MESA — Sailors freshman Eli Gomez earned his first medalist honor after carding a one-under-par 34 in the Sunset League match Thursday at Costa Mesa Country Club’s Mesa Linda course Thursday.

Marcus Kiel and Travis Russell both shot 36, while Mychael Clark and Zach Eddy each shot 37 for Newport Harbor (11-3, 4-1 in league).

NEWPORT BEACH — John Davenport shot even 35 to earn medalist honors for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League match Thursday at Newport Beach Country Club.

Ryan Mull shot 38, while Mike Moorhead, Jono Keedy and Josh Starnes each carded a 39 for CdM (13-1, 6-0 in league).
