UCI student, 23, reported missing
UC Irvine police are asking for the public’s help to find a graduate student who has not been seen since Saturday, the day before his 23rd birthday.
Mahesh Mahadevan was last seen leaving his Palo Verde apartment at 5 a.m. His apartment was part of UCI’s graduate student housing.
Police said he left his personal effects, such as bank cards, at home. His cell phone is off, authorities said.
There has been no activity on his credit cards or phone since his disappearance, police said.
Mahadevan is described as a 5-foot-7, 120-pound Indian with black, medium-length wavy hair, dark eyes, a thin build and a clear complexion.
Mahadevan is an international student who is studying mechanical engineering. One of his friends called police to report him missing, school officials said.
If you have any information about Mahadevan’s whereabouts, call UCI police at (949) 824-5223 or Det. Ronald Chiu at (949) 824-1161. You can e-mail Chiu at [email protected].
