Two shot over the weekend

Two separate shootings took place in Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley last weekend, leaving a 20-year-old man dead and a 15-year-old girl wounded.
In the first incident, a pair of rival Asian gangs met at Sun View Park in Huntington Beach about 8:50 p.m. Friday, and a dispute during the meeting led to a violent fight, Lt. Russell Reinhart said.
The teenage girl, who police believe was involved with one of the gangs, suffered several gunshot wounds to her legs and was hospitalized at UCI Medical Center in Orange and listed in serious but stable condition.
Police detained about a dozen members of both gangs and arrested one man for a probation violation, Reinhart said.
Police do not have a description of the person who shot the girl, and the department’s gang unit is investigating the case.
Reinhart said it was unclear why the gangs chose Sun View Park, which is not usually a trouble area, for their meeting place.
“They’re not from Huntington Beach,” he said. “It appears they’re from Westminster and Santa Ana. For some reason, they decided to meet in Huntington Beach.”
No one else appeared to have been shot during the incident, Reinhart said. Anyone with information is asked to call (714) 536-5951.
In the second incident, early Sunday morning, Fountain Valley police responded to a call of shots fired in the 10400 block of Margarita Street and found a male victim who had been shot dead at the scene.
The man, according to police, had apparently been at a party at a nearby residence.
An unknown number of people fled the scene after the shooting.
Anyone with information is asked to call (714) 593-4485.
