CORONA DEL MAR — Brian Hurst went three for four with a run batted in for the Sea Kings, who finished eighth in the 16-team Beach Pit Classic Wednesday.

Mitch Gardner went two for four, while Beau Attyah was one for three with two RBIs and a double for CdM (7-11).

The Sea Kings play host to Irvine Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.

NEWPORT BEACH — Senior Dillan Freiberg went two for three with a double and a run scored to help the Sailors win the consolation championship game of the Beach Pit Classic Wednesday.

Newport Harbor finished ninth in the 16-team tournament.

Senior Jacob McCann hit a two-run home run to break a scoreless tie in the third inning.

Senior pitcher Ryan Albert produced a complete game, the first of the season for the Sailors (13-3). He struck out five and scattered six hits with no walks to improve to 4-1.

Newport Harbor will play at Fountain Valley in a Sunset League game Wednesday at 3:15 p.m.

COSTA MESA — Tyler Sheffner had a double and four runs batted in and P.J. Maloney pitched four innings to record his fourth victory in the 13th-place game of the Beach Pit Classic Wednesday at Costa Mesa High.

The game was halted after five innings.

Costa Mesa (8-7) returns to Orange Coast League play Tuesday at Godinez.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Senior goalie Hugh Russell had 13 saves to lead the Sea Kings in the nonleague game Wednesday.

Senior Ruan Mix and Daniel Noto had three goals apiece for the Sea Kings (8-1).

CdM plays host to St. Joseph’s of Maryland Satuday at 1 p.m. at Peninsula Park.
