Three held in Ecstacy possession case
Three men were arrested on suspicion of possessing Ecstacy at 4:53 p.m. March 24 after police executed a search warrant on Cliff Drive at Circle Way, Sgt. Louise Callus said.
Brandon Viola, 26, of Long Beach, Austin Michael Huebner, 19, from Mission Viejo, and Anthony Chanes, 18 from Rancho Santa Margarita, were all held on $20,000 bail, according to police records.
Pot smoking leads to arrest on warrant
An Arizona man was arrested on a DUI warrant from San Bernardino after police were called to two men allegedly smoking marijuana near Bluebird Canyon beach at 2:05 p.m. Saturday, Callus said.
Saul Boone was arrested on the warrant, and his companion, an Adelanto man, was issued a citation for possessing less than one ounce of marijuana.
Bicyclist allegedly at fault in collision
A bicyclist was blamed for being struck by a vehicle in the 300 block of Glenneyre Street at 12:12 p.m. Saturday, Callus said.
The bicyclist was allegedly riding on the sidewalk in the wrong direction when the collision took place. The bicyclist was taken to Mission Hospital Laguna Beach for treatment of unspecified injuries, according to police records.
Police investigate ‘bomb’ comment
A Laguna Beach man was contacted by police at 3:18 p.m. March 24 after losing his temper at a PayPal employee in Omaha and making a statement about a bomb at a federal building, Callus said.
The man admitted that he had “lost his temper and made stupid comments,” Callus said. No crime was committed, she added.
