NEWPORT BEACH — Austin Bagby had 14 points for the Sailors in the Sunset League game Thursday night.

Chad Seeber had 13 points and Chris Anderson had 12 points for Newport Harbor (11-15, 3-7 in league), which finished fourth in league. The Sailors will apply for an at-large berth for the CIF playoffs and will learn if they are granted it Sunday when pairings are announced.

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Coleen Mead had 16 points, including four three-pointers, for the Sailors in the Sunset League game Thursday night.

Alex Morton had 13 points and 14 rebounds, while Casey Thompson had six points and four rebounds for Newport Harbor (9-17, 1-9 in league), which finished last in the six-team league.

Jill Messersmith had the assist for Newport (3-6-1 in league). Goalie Emily Browne had nine saves. The Tars were without Elizabeth Eddy, Brianna Shwartz and Beth Barnard, all out with knee injuries.
