CORONA DEL MAR — Junior Clayton Ragsdale finished with 18 points as the Sea Kings clinched the outright Pacific Coast League championship on Thursday night.
CdM (21-3, 9-0 in league), ranked No. 7 in the CIF Southern Section Division III-A coaches’ poll, has won 15 straight games.
Ramon Mejia had 15 points, while Danny Cheek finished with 10 and Parker Stone added nine.

IRVINE — Victoria Kent scored five goals in two games Thursday, helping Corona del Mar reach the quarterfinals at Irvine High.
The Sea Kings (16-6) play Edison tonight at 6. The two programs are ranked No. 4 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll.
The Sea Kings won the tournament last season for the first time.
Alex Musselman made 19 saves in the first two games of the tournament. The Sea Kings defeated Lompoc Cabrillo, 16-4, in the opening game, and Vista, 11-7, in the second round.
Pippa Saunders averaged two goals per game during the first day of action.

IRVINE — Senior Kaleigh Gilchrist finished with 10 goals Thursday, as Newport Harbor easily won its first two games in the tournament at Irvine High.
The Sailors (19-3) advanced to the quarterfinals, where they will face Santa Barbara tonight at 6.
Newport Harbor, ranked No. 2 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll, defeated Esperanza, 16-2, in the first game, and beat Murrieta Valley, 14-4, in the second game.
Colleen McCall had two goals in each contest.

CORONA DEL MAR — Senior center Katie Bergsma finished with a double-double, 16 points and 13 rebounds, in the Sea Kings’ Pacific Coast League game Thursday.
Saylor Schroff had 10 points with two three-pointers for CdM (14-11, 4-5 in league).
Daniela Gallardo stood out on defense for the Sea Kings, as did the rest of the team. CdM held San Juan Hills to just four field goals.

LAGUNA BEACH — Junior guard Kassie Stratton had 18 points in the Eagles’ Orange Coast League game Thursday.
Yessenia Maldonado contributed 12 points and Jenny Boldizar had 11 points for Estancia (5-2 in league).
Los Alamitos 47,
Newport Harbor 41
LOS ALAMITOS — Alex Morton hit a free throw with eight seconds left in regulation to send Thursday’s Sunset League game into overtime, but the Sailors fell short of getting their second league victory.
Morton had 19 points and 15 rebounds for Newport Harbor (9-15, 1-7 in league), which rallied from 12 points down and took a two-point lead in the fourth quarter.
The Sailors struggled at the free-throw line, going nine for 27.
Maiquel McLeish had seven points and 10 rebounds and Kasey Thompson had 13 rebounds, five points and three steals for Newport Harbor.

CORONA DEL MAR — Senior Hayley Raguse recorded a hat trick in the Sea Kings’ Pacific Coast League match Thursday.
After being out for five weeks, senior Alexandra Reinach returned from a shoulder injury,. She scored a goal and assisted on another.
Goalkeepers Sarah Cox and Savannah Vaughn combined for the shutout.
CdM (12-8-3, 6-3 in league) plays host to Beckman Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.
