More lousy weather expected today
There have been several spin-outs in the rain but drivers continue to avoid major crashes on Newport Beach and Costa Mesa freeways, California Highway Patrol officials said this morning.
The National Weather Service continues to have flood, wind, and high surf advisories in effect through most of the day. Costa Mesa police and firefighters have already responded to one significant crash on local streets, when a silver Honda Civic crashed into Coast Hand Cars Wash, 176, E. 17th St. in Costa Mesa, at 9:52 a.m.
The driver’s condition was not immediately known, but he was transported to Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital in Newport Beach, officials said. No one else was involved in the crash.
