Bolsa Chica bridge delivery delayed
The expected delivery of a pedestrian bridge that would connect the Bolsa Chica Mesa to the parking lot by Warner Avenue has been delayed, an official for the Bolsa Chica Land Trust said.
The bridge, which was paid for by the state, the Land Trust and other environmental groups, was scheduled to be delivered tonight and installed by crane early Tuesday morning. However, Land Trust Restoration Coordinator Kim Kolpin said the state had postponed the delivery and the bridge might not arrive until next week.
The bridge will provide a walkway to pedestrians at Bolsa Chica, who currently have to walk alongside traffic on Warner to make it from the parking lot to the mesa. Supporters of the project have cited the possible danger in having pedestrians take this route.
