Coastline appoints interim president
Coastline Community College announced the appointment of an interim president for the college until a permanent replacement can be found.
Marilyn Brock will take over the reigns at Coastline and temporarily replace prior President Ding-Jo Currie as the Coast Community College District conducts a nationwide search for a permanent replacement.
Brock’s appointment was unanimously approved by the district Board of Trustees during a special meeting Dec. 16. Brock will begin Jan. 1.
The position became vacant when Currie was selected as interim chancellor for the district and later appointed the permanent chancellor.
Brock was the president at Mendocino College in Ukiah and has held executive administrative positions at different California community colleges. She recently served as the interim vice president of academic affairs at Cerritos College.
The Long Beach resident earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Cal State Long Beach and her Doctor of Education in institutional management from Pepperdine University.
Coastline is headquartered in Fountain Valley and operates an art gallery in Huntington Beach.
