Fountain Valley to light holiday tree

Fountain Valley is kicking off the holidays with its annual tree lighting event Saturday.

The city will light up the sky with fireworks and make it snow for its holiday event. There will be a gingerbread decorating contest, carnival games, holiday train rides and crafts. Kids can write a letter to Santa, or take a photo with the big guy for $2. Food will also be available for purchase.

The event runs from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Fountain Valley Recreation Center and Sports Park at 16400 Brookhurst St. For more information, call (714) 839-8611.
