Cal State Fullerton
IRVINE — The Anteaters extended their win streak to five matches with a 29-27, 25-20, 25-19 Big West Conference win over Cal State Fullerton Friday night at the Bren Events Center.
The win lifts UC Irvine to 22-6, 11-4 in conference and sets up a showdown for the Big West title at tonight at 7, as UCI visits Long Beach State (also 11-4 in conference) at the Pyramid.
Junior outside hitter Kari Pestolesi had 16 kills, and committed just four errors in 35 attempts for a .343 hitting percentage. She also had 18 digs and two service aces.
Corona del Mar High product Juliane Piggott added 11 kills, 10 digs and two aces, as well as two solo blocks and one block assist.
Alexandra Hauser had seven kills and three block assists and setter Taryn Robertson had 36 assists and 10 digs.
Cal State Fullerton fell to 16-12, 7-8.

LOS ANGELES — Senior guard Rebecca Maessen scored a game-high 17 points for the Anteaters in the nonconference road game Friday.
Keyonna Johnson added 12 points and Jade Smith-Williams chipped in 10 for the winners, who earned their first victory in three contests this season.
Smith-Williams made four of eight field-goal tried, while freshman Jazmyne White was four for five from the field on her way to nine points for UCI.
Kim Barnes had eight rebounds, while White added six.
Smith-Williams had five assists.
LMU fell to 1-2.
MEN’S BASKETBALL

Orange Coast 64
COSTA MESA — Chris Williams had a team-high 16 points to pace the host Pirates in the nonconference game Friday.
Landon Brown added 11 points for the Pirates (2-2) who were down, 37-23, at halftime. They first tied the score at 54 and it was still tied at 60, but Moorpark (1-4) ended the game on a 9-4 run.
Chris Wright grabbed a team-high seven rebounds for OCC, while George Fields dished out four assists.
OCC returns to action at 3 p.m. Friday against Glendora, at the Citrus Tournament. The Pirates will not be back at home until Jan. 6 against Riverside in their Orange Empire Conference opener.
