RIVERSIDE — Amanda Couch scored in the 101st minute to conclude the Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal Friday.
Couch’s golden goal came with an assist from Lauren Evans. Danielle Dintino pulled Vanguard (12-1-5), ranked No. 8 in the NAIA, even by cashing in a Kathleen McDonald assist in the 35th minute.
Vanguard advances to the title match Friday against visiting Point Loma Nazarene.

FULLERTON — The visiting Pirates fell to 8-5-1 in Orange Empire Conference play Friday.

COSTA MESA — The host Pirates prevailed, 25-18, 25-17, 25-19, in an Orange Empire Conference match.
Poerava Gantt paced OCC with 16 kills and 16 digs.
Rachel Freeno and Briana Fields each had 10 kills and Freeno added 11 digs.
Amanda Cheseborough and Nikki Osuna had 15 and 10 digs, respectively for the Pirates.
The Pirates, ranked No. 5 in the state, are 15-2, 9-2 in the OEC.

COSTA MESA — The Orange Empire Conference-leading Dons dropped OCC’s record to 8-9-2l, 5-5-2 in conference.
Omid Kazemi and Shun Katashima had goals for the Pirates, who pulled even at 2-2.
Denny Perdomo had an assist on Kazemi’s goal that gave the Pirates a 1-0 lead.
