Brief
A UCI Halloween
The UC Irvine baseball team offers a free afternoon of baseball and Halloween fun today at 11 a.m. at Anteater Ballpark.
Players will be in costume while they practice and play an intrasquad game and this is the first chance to see the 2010 Anteaters.
Coach Mike Gillespie’s ’Eaters were ranked No. 1 in the nation at the end of the 2009 regular season, in which they captured the program’s first Big West Conference championship.
This season, six all-conference players return, including Big West Pitcher of the Year Danny Bibona.
The first 50 kids in costume will be invited to join the team in the dugout for the entire practice.
Candy will be handed out at the entrance and admission is free. Kids will also be invited to run the bases after the game and an autograph session will also be held.
All kids must bring a signed waiver, which may be obtained at ucirvinesports.com/sports/m-basebl
