Colonel Frank Campbell Marshall
Frank, at age 89 years old, and a 60 year resident of Newport Beach, passed away on October 24, 2009 at Hoag Hospital.
Frank was raised in Redland, CA, graduated from Culver Military School in Indiana and Menlo College in Menlo, CA. A retired Colonel, he served in the Army in World War II and the Vietnam War. He then opened his Real Estate office in Newport Beach and retired in 1980. He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 64 years, Chris and their five sons and spouses; Frank Jr., Bob and Debi, John and Michele, Philip and Diane, and Paul and Kelly. Frank is also survived by 12 grandkids, Chip, Christine (Erik), Andrew, Scott (Denise), Ryan, Michael (Rachelle), David (Melanie), Jeff (Wendy), Morgan, Maren, Courtney, and Megan.
Frank was a long time member of the Newport Harbor Yacht Club. Beginning in 1929 he and his family sailed actively for NHYC, later owning many boats and remaining an active member. He was also active in a number of Philanthropic organizations.
Frank’s sense of humor and fun loving personality will be missed by many. A service will be held at Pacific View Memorial Park, today Wednesday Oct 28, at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Newport
Harbor Nautical Museum or Hoag Hospital SS2 Club. In
memory of Frank Marshall.
