An unidentified man visited a Corona del Mar clothing boutique Wednesday and exposed himself to two store clerks while trying on a dress at the store, police said.
The man entered the Holly Sharp Signature Boutique about 4 p.m. and told a female sales clerk he wanted to buy a dress for himself, said Newport Beach Sgt. Evan Sailor.
The man went into a dressing room to try on a short dress. When he opened the dressing room door and asked the clerk how the dress fit, the woman noticed the man’s erect penis was exposed from under the dress, Sailor said.
The man changed back into his clothes and left the store after another sales clerk told him his actions were inappropriate, Sailor said.
One of the store clerks called police, but officers were unable to find the man.
The sales clerks described the suspect as a white man in his 40s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall with brown curly hair and blue eyes, Sailor said.
He was wearing a light blue T-shirt, dark blue running shorts, a light blue baseball cap and tennis shoes at the time of the incident, Sailor said.
