CORONA DEL MAR — The Corona del Mar High girls’ tennis team proved to be too much for Sage Hill School Wednesday at the Sea Kings’ court.

The Sea Kings swept in singles and overpowered the Lightning winning the nonleague match, 17-1.

Melissa Matsuoka, Katelyn Nguyen and Kalika Slevcove won in singles as did their substitutes for the Sea Kings

In doubles, the No. 3 team of freshman Alison Ishii and junior Mackenzie Ludlow swept, 6-2, 6-4, 6-0 for CdM (13-1), ranked No. 4 in CIF Southern Section Division I.

Sage Hill, ranked No. 2 in Division IV, dropped to 11-7.

NEWPORT COAST — Senior co-captain Lindsey Kish had 15 kills to pace the Lightning’s 25-21, 25-12, 25-22 Academy League home win Wednesday.

Sophomore Zoe Kreitenberg had 12 kills and three aces, while Natasha Sakraney added seven kills and seven digs for the winners (8-9, 4-1 in league).

Sage, ranked No. 4 in CIF Southern Section Division IV-AA, plays host to Whitney Friday.

SANTA ANA — Kim Haycraft and Ashley Peters both shot two-over-par 36 to share medalist honors and help the Eagles finish as the undefeated Golden West League champions at Riverview Golf Course Wednesday.

Nicole Irigoyen (40), Jeana de Arakal (41) and Martiza Gonzalez (43) also contributed for Estancia (18-2, 10-0 in league).

The Eagles will compete in the league finals, which begin Monday at El Prado Golf Course.

BOYS’ WATER POLO

NEWPORT BEACH — Blake Kelly scored seven goals and recorded three steals for the Sailors in the Sunset League game Wednesday.

Jack Yeager, Harry Tingler and Jon Walters scored two goals each for Newport Harbor (16-3, 3-0 in league), ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division I.

Zach Lucas contributed five assists and three steals for the Sailors.

Newport Harbor will play host to Corona del Mar Saturday at 5 p.m.

Estancia 15, Godinez 7

SANTA ANA — Charlie Umansky scored eight goals to lead the Eagles in the Orange Coast League contest Wednesday at Santa Ana Valley High.

Connor Graham had six saves and Derek Andrews added two goals as Estancia pulled away after being tied, 5-5, after one quarter.

Estancia improved to 14-7, 2-1 in league.
