Jeb Egbert on Monday was named provost and chief academic officer of Costa Mesa-based West Coast University.
Egbert will oversee faculty and academic support personnel, accreditation, academic program development, academic assessment, academic policies and procedures, and academic budget management, university officials announced in a news release.
Egbert is the first person to take on the role of provost at the private, four-year, for-profit West Coast University, which offers programs in nursing and dental hygiene.
Most recently, he spent five years as vice president for academic affairs and campus president at Argosy University, a for-profit, regionally accredited university.
West Coast University has campuses in Anaheim, Los Angeles and Ontario.
