The annual Orange Coast District Elks Golf Tournament will take place at Jurupa Hills Golf Course this coming Monday. All proceeds from this event will go to fund the Elks Special Hoop Shoot held in conjunction with the Orange County Special Olympics scheduled to take place on Nov 20 in Anaheim CA. Elks Lodges in Fullerton, Garden Grove, Buena Park, Santa Ana, Mission Viejo, Westminster, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, La Habra, and Orange will all participate in the fund raiser.
Funds raised by the golf outing will buy tee shirts, trophies and prizes for the young athletes taking part in the free throw competition. Over 250 developmentally challenged participants are expected to compete at the upcoming Orange County Special Olympics, and this year marks the sixth year the Elks have sponsored the Special Hoop Shoot event. Elks Golf and Hoop Shoot chairman Ed Repic said, “We still have a few openings in the golf tournament and all Elks and guests are welcome to participate. Included in the fee are 18 holes of golf w/cart, tee favors, breakfast and lunch at the course, cash prizes and trophies…all for $60.” Repic added, “It’s a great deal for the golfers and a wonderful opportunity to support a charitable program benefiting some of Orange County’s most beloved and special people.” For more information call 714-956-1927 or [email protected] or www.orangecoastelks.org
