On Friday, October 9 the Laguna Beach Garden Club presents nurseryman Gary Matsuoka.
Mr. Matsuoka, president of Laguna Hills Nursery, will share his knowledge of soils, including plant nutrition, irrigation and root health. He will also explain his technique of changing the soil in potted plants.
Gary has been President of Laguna Hills Nursery since 1994 and is a Certified California Nursery Professional. His specialties include flowering trees, roses, and fruiting plants. His current passion concerns soil preparation and its effect on plant health. Photos of banana trees and mangoes in Gary’s quarter-acre garden have appeared in Sunset Magazine in past years.
The club meeting will be held at the Neighborhood Congregational Church, 340 St. Ann’s Drive, Laguna Beach. The social gathering starts at 9:30AM, featuring the popular Plant & Garden “Boutique” for unique garden items at ‘dirt’-cheap prices. The Business meeting starts at 10:00AM, followed by Mr. Matsuoka at 10:30AM. The meeting is free one-time for guests.
