South Coast Tournament
Newport Harbor High and Corona del Mar begin play in the three-day, 32-team South Coast Tournament today.
Sailors, No. 1 in their pool, will face Granite Hills at 3 p.m. at Newport Harbor, while the Sea Kings, No. 2 in their group, take on Edison at 5 p.m. at CdM.
The semifinals and final (4:05 p.m.) are at Newport Harbor Saturday.

COSTA MESA — Junior Charlie Umansky scored five goals for the Eagles in the nonleague game Wednesday at Estancia High.
Sophomore Derek Andrews added three goals and junior Connor Graham had 22 saves for Estancia (5-3), which plays Costa Mesa at 5 p.m. Friday at Magnolia High in a consolation game of the Katella Tournament.

SANTA ANA — Morgan Moody shot six-over-par 42 to earn medalist honors for host Sailors in the nonleague match Wednesday at Santa Ana Country Club.
Lindsey Hanna (43), Charlotte Skjonsby (43), Ali Thomas (46) and Casey Jones (46) also scored for the hosts (6-0).

NEWPORT BEACH — The Sea Kings recorded their lowest team score ever at Newport Beach Country Club in the Pacific Coast League match Wednesday.
Senior Amanda Johnson shot two-over-par 37 to lead CdM, two shots behind Uni medalist Ani Gulugian, the No. 3-ranked junior in the world, CdM Coach Mike Starkweather said.
Grace Kim (43), Ashley Varner (43), Tess Crane (45) and Caitlin Shinohara (47) also scored for CdM (2-5, 1-1 in league).

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA — No. 1 singles player Melissa Matsuoka swept, dropping just one game in the Sea Kings’ nonleague win Wednesday.
Sophomore Kalika Slevcove and freshman Nini Ugrelidze swept at No. 2 doubles for the Sea Kings 6-2, 6-0, 6-3. Katelyn Nguyen also swept at No. 2 singles.
