COSTA MESA — The Vanguard University women’s volleyball team dealt No. 3-ranked Cal Baptist its first loss, 25-18, 25-22, 16-25, 20-25, 15-13, Tuesday night in a Golden State Athletic Conference match.
Senior Kelsey Wirt led the way with a match-high 23 kills, including the match-winner in the fifth set. She also 14 digs, which led all players. Senior Heather DeJongh added 14 kills and sophomore Lisa Morgan contributed 11 kills for the Lions (9-5, 3-2 in conference).
Senior setter Meghan Walsh amassed 50 assists to go with 11 digs and five kills.

ALISO VIEJO — Sophomore Adam Holstein scored two goals for the Lions in the nonconference game Tuesday.
Senior Eric Nutter and junior Victor Tapia added one goal each for Vanguard (3-3-1).
