The Newport Beach Sister City program is hosting an International Festival at Mariners Park in Newport Beach from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 4, according to Connie Skibba.
The free event is a family affair to celebrate the city of Newport Beach with its sister cities in France, Japan and Mexico.
The opening ceremony begins at 12:30 p.m. with the El Toro Naval Squadron Sea Cadets and with Newport Beach Centennial Mayor, Councilman Don Webb, as master of ceremonies.
The festival will include many games, prizes and entertainment “Under the Big Top.”
Special performances will include CanCan Dancers from the Performing Arts School in Huntington Beach, the fabulous Taiko Drummers from the Los Angeles Taiko Center, children’s ensemble of Folklorico dancers and the children’s chorus from Harbor View Elementary School in Newport Beach.
The Sister City Program promotes people to people, one culture, one friend at a time.
Our festival is a fun family day in the park to promote the sister cities of Newport Beach.
