A Costa Mesa man is expected to be charged today for allegedly slashing an in-law’s arm with a steak knife during an argument Monday.
Jose Maria Campos-Barragan, 34, is in Orange County Jail without bail. Police arrested him Monday afternoon for allegedly attacking his sister-in-law at her home on Hamilton Street in Costa Mesa. The woman told him to leave because he was drunk, police said.
They allege that Campos-Barragan then grabbed a knife and sliced her arm before leaving in his car. Police stopped him nearby and arrested him, said Costa Mesa Sgt. Bryan Glass.
Police booked him on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
