Police admonish fibbing teenager

A 16-year-old boy called police dispatchers claiming his sister’s boyfriend tried to hit her, and said “Please come! I’m begging you!” in the 5000 block of Flamingo Circle at 10:57 a.m. Sunday.

When police arrived, they learned the 16-year-old had made up the story. He was having a fit because he didn’t get the birthday party he wanted, and because his brothers had told him to turn his video game down.

The boy was advised by police to stop throwing tantrums.

Woman worries about belongings

A woman told police she was in the hospital “under quarantine” with the flu at 1:08 a.m. Sunday. The woman lives in the 16700 block of Viewpoint Lane.

The woman claimed she had been receiving threatening phone calls from someone staying at her apartment who said that he was going to steal her Labrador and all of her belongings.

The woman asked police to check on her dog, and to tell the roommate not to take anything.

Police were instructed to disregard the request, according to the incident log. They instead advised the woman to have a friend check on the dog.

Undisclosed location: A caller said they believed a man was in a “drug rage” at 12:26 a.m. Sunday. The suspect allegedly cursed at his girlfriend, telling her he was going to kill her, and kicked her car. The man then jumped a fence. The caller was concerned because they believed there was a shooting at the location the previous week.

Graham Street at Edinger Avenue: People in a black Ford Ranger were seen throwing beer cans out of their window and driving erratically at 3:08 a.m. Sunday.

Bluebonnet Drive at Goldenwest Street: A caller said his tooth was chipped when he was pushed by a person at 3:43 a.m. Sunday.

Edinger Avenue: A woman was heard screaming “stop it” in the 8400 block at 5:56 a.m. Sunday. The caller was unsure whether the woman was “elderly or mentally ill or extremely intoxicated.” It turned out the woman was moaning in her sleep.

Wild Cherry Circle: A parent reported that juveniles were involved in an altercation over an airsoft gun in the 15500 block at 7:53 a.m. Sunday.

Pacific Coast Highway: A propeller was stolen from a boat over the summer in the 16400 block at 12:42 p.m. Sunday.

Queens Lane: A woman reported that someone took the screens off her windows and asked who the caller’s husband was in the 17400 block at 6:11 a.m. Sunday.

Norbrook Drive: A caller said someone “vandalized” their wooden mailbox in the 6100 block at 10:37 a.m. Sunday. Police determined the mailbox’s base was completed rotted, and the box fell over naturally.

Beach Boulevard: A drunken man was seen walking around a restaurant begging for money while drinking vodka in the 17500 block at 12:03 p.m. Sunday.

Goldenwest Street at Yorktown Avenue: A woman reported that she chased her boyfriend in her vehicle after catching him with another woman at midnight Sunday.

Crest Avenue: About 50 people were heard “chanting” in an alley near the 300 block at 2:22 a.m. Sunday.

West Adams Avenue: An unknown man was heard knocking at a caller’s front door, saying “[expletive], let me in,” in the 300 block at 2:44 a.m. Sunday. The man was picked up by police and taken home.

Pacific Coast Highway: Police assisted in an eviction at a hotel in the 21100 block at 3 a.m. Sunday.

Pacific Coast Highway: A drunken man was seen in a resident’s back yard and banging on a door in the 1000 block at 4:44 a.m. Sunday. The man was returned to his friends.

Delaware Street: Graffiti was seen on a block wall near a mobile home park in the 19100 block at 9:11 a.m. Sunday.

21st Street: A caller said their son violated their restraining order against him in the 400 block at 10:46 a.m. Sunday.

Burlcrest Drive at Swansea Lane: Following a non-injury traffic collision, a man threatened the person who he believed caused the accident at 12:05 a.m. Sunday.

Luss Drive: A caller reported seeing men fighting in the 8800 block at 12:17 a.m. Sunday. When police responded, an 18-year-old in the group saw the police approaching and dropped a can of Coors Light beer he was holding, ostensibly to hide it. Police cited him for being a minor in possession of alcohol.

Inverness Lane: A pit bull was seen running through a residential complex in the 19700 block at 12:41 a.m. Sunday. The caller tried to corral the dog, but it ran away before police arrived on the scene. Police were unable to locate the dog.

Five Harbors Drive: A resident complained that juveniles were making noise and riding skateboards in the 9100 block at 1:27 a.m. Sunday.

Beach Boulevard: A man and woman were seen stealing crates from behind a business in the 21100 block at 10:04 a.m. Sunday. They claimed to police that they didn’t realize they weren’t allowed to take them.

Lochlea Lane: A caller said someone put acid or some other corrosive substance on their car hood for the second time in the 21000 block at 10:29 a.m. Sunday.

Newland Street: The driver of a white Mercedes who left their door unlocked said a CD player faceplate, their wallet and some loose change were stolen from their vehicle in the 21800 block at 10:34 a.m. Sunday.

Dorsett Drive: Police said five juveniles were seen trying to break into a school in the 8700 block at 11:07 a.m. Sunday.

Indian River Court: A domestic dispute was reported in the 10200 block at 9:44 p.m. Sunday.

White Fish Circle: Police were asked to help keep the peace in the 8500 block at 3:26 p.m. Sunday.

Warner Avenue: Someone was disturbing the peace in a market in the 8900 bock at 4:53 p.m. Sunday.

Warner Avenue: Vandalism was reported at a park in the 9700 block at 3:22 p.m. Sunday.

San Jacinto Street: A vehicle burglary was reported in the 16300 block 6:50 p.m. Sunday.
