Mailbag:

Sadly, the Aug. 20 article (“A size and a half too large”) regarding the senior center plans for Central Park could have been retitled “The fix is in.”

The modus operandi of the City Council majority, a compliant city staff and the influential backers of this boondoggle, is to ignore findings, change the rules, reinterpret Measure T, kowtow to Makar at every turn, misrepresent the opposition, and continuously bully us in order to get their way.

In no way is this representative government (unless you happen to be on their side). When will our citizens, seniors included, wake up to the fact that they are being had by special interests that have little interest in serving the community?
