Police defuse dispute over bag of pretzels

A man and woman were seen fighting over a bag of pretzels at a bench on Pacific Coast Highway at Sixth Street at 5:03 a.m. Sunday.

The man told police that he and his wife met at a mental hospital, where they both were treated for bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

Police resolved the situation by telling the couple to split the bag of pretzels equally.

So, guess what I saw on my jog — twice

A female jogger told police at 11:15 a.m. Sunday that a man had exposed himself to her twice while she was jogging on the riverbed near Garfield Avenue at Ward Street.

The woman said the man, who was wearing only a T-shirt Sunday morning, masturbated as he saw her approaching. In the first incident, the man was completely naked.

The woman said the man drives a newer-model Ford F250 gray truck.

Pacific Coast Highway: A man said his white Corvette was stolen in the 17100 block at 12:30 a.m. Sunday. He then found it while he was still on the phone with police.

Edinger Avenue: A group of men was seen fighting in a fast food parking lot in the 6100 block at 1:17 a.m. Sunday.

Rhone Lane: A caller said a coyote repeatedly entered their neighborhood in the 16300 block at 6:01 a.m. Sunday.

Phelps Lane: A caller said someone stole a television from their motor home in the 16700 block at 6:27 a.m. Sunday.

Bolero Lane: A caller said a beagle left in a back yard of an abandoned rental unit had been barking for several days in the 16800 block 6:33 a.m. Sunday.

Heil Avenue at Bolsa Chica Street: A caller said an erratic driver threw a beer bottle out of a window at 11:32 a.m. Sunday.

Angler Lane: People were seen burning trash in a back yard in the 16100 block at 11:54 a.m. Sunday.

Edinger Avenue: A woman was taken into custody at a store for attempting to steal makeup and earrings in the 7700 block 12:04 p.m. Sunday.

Anacapa Drive: A woman said her ex-boyfriend had been harassing her and driving by her home in the 6000 block at 12:20 p.m. Sunday.

Warner Avenue: A caller said their bike was stolen in the 6400 block at 12:45 p.m. Sunday.

Meadowlark Drive at Chipper Lane: A man was seen hitting a woman in a silver Honda at 1:16 p.m. Sunday.

Edinger Avenue: Two juvenile girls were taken into custody for attempting to steal clothing from a store in the 7700 block at 1:28 p.m. Sunday.

Livingston Drive: Someone threw a rock into a caller’s bedroom window in the 6700 block at 4:34 a.m. Sunday.

Beach Boulevard: A store manager said he found that $280 in cash was missing from his store registers in the 17100 block at 11:36 a.m. Sunday.

Pier Plaza: A transient refused to leave a tented area at 2:08 a.m. Sunday.

20th Street at Orange Avenue: A caller said they suspected their Range Rover was hit by a Mach 1 Cobra Mustang at 2:16 a.m. Sunday.

Delaware Street at Atlanta Avenue: A caller said they were jumped by two people at a park at 4:14 a.m. Sunday.

Orange Avenue: A pastor accidentally set off his church’s burglary alarm in the 1700 block at 8:11 a.m. Sunday.

13th Street: A female caller said she was concerned that someone put something in her drink the previous night because she was experiencing tachycardia and was unable to breathe in the 400 block at 10:56 a.m. Sunday.

Owen Avenue: A caller said a drunken man was trespassing in a sober living apartment complex in the 700 block at 11:10 a.m. Sunday.

13th Street: A caller claimed people were dealing drugs out of a home in the 500 block at 12:01 p.m. Sunday.

11th Street: A caller said a group of juveniles selling lemonade were entering the street to advertise their wares in the 1000 block at 12:52 p.m. Sunday.

Erskine Drive: A caller said people were arguing, cursing and crying behind their home in the 9500 block at 2:02 a.m. Sunday.

Litchfield Drive at Bushard Street: A caller said juvenile skateboarders were making noise outside their residence at 3:53 a.m. Sunday.

Beach Boulevard: A caller said a tenant was camped in front of a leasing office at an apartment complex with a protest sign in the 21200 block at 9:26 a.m. Sunday. Office employees said he came into the office and screamed obscenities at them.

Brookhurst Street: A caller who left their vehicle door unlocked said their wallet, sunglasses and skateboard were stolen from their vehicle in the 21600 block at 11:02 a.m. Sunday.

Brookhurst Street: A caller said her roommate locked her out of her apartment in the 21300 block at 11:34 a.m. Sunday. The girl needed to pack so she could go to college.

Newland Street: A caller in the 18000 block said at 11:49 a.m. that they were threatened by a man who said his bike was stolen and that he had just gotten out of jail. The man also made threats at a halfway house in Midway City, according to linked call reports.

Brookhurst Street: A domestic dispute was reported from a residence in the 18500 block at 9:03 p.m. Monday.

Edinger Avenue at Harbor Boulevard: Someone reported a fight at 7:49 p.m. Monday.

Brookhurst Street: Someone disturbed the peace at a residence in the 18500 block at 1:44 p.m. Monday.

San Miguel Court: A stolen vehicle was reported in the 10000 block at 1:57 p.m. Monday.

La Alameda Avenue: Someone was disturbing the peace in the 9900 block at 10:40 p.m. Monday.

Newhope Street: A vehicle burglary was reported from a warehouse store parking lot in the 17900 block at 2:11 p.m. Monday.

Hood Court: Someone reported their mail was stolen in the 17400 block at 7:14 p.m. Monday.

Slater Avenue: Someone reported a case of petty theft at a sushi restaurant in the 10500 block at 8:39 p.m. Monday.

Sandstone Avenue: Vandalism was reported from a school in the 11300 block at 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Harbor Boulevard: A case of battery was reported in the 16400 block at 9:46 a.m. Monday.
