Caller says police not like those in Texas

A caller told police he saw three men attempting to open vehicle doors in the 200 block of Chicago Avenue at 12:24 a.m. Sunday.

The caller confronted the men, and one of the men allegedly began to attack the caller.

Police told the caller that he had to perform a citizen’s arrest, as they weren’t there to witness the attempted assault.

The caller told police he didn’t want to conduct a citizen’s arrest, saying police should have arrested the men because “that is how they would have done it in Texas.”
