Woman reports ex tried breaking in
A woman called police to say that her ex-boyfriend, whom she has a restraining order against, tried to get into a window at her residence at 12:41 a.m. Sunday.
Police didn’t disclose the location of the incident.
The suspect later said he “wanted to surprise her by lying next to her.â€
McFadden Avenue at Bolsa Chica Street: Children jumped out in front of a caller’s vehicle at 12:15 a.m. Sunday.
Volga Drive: A woman said that after she broke up with her “boyfriend,†whom she has only known for a week, he began calling her and texting her; she next heard him knocking at her door in the 7500 block at 1:58 a.m. Sunday.
Winslow Drive: A woman from Northern California told police at 7:37 a.m. Sunday that her 45-year-old son called her at about 5:30 a.m. to tell her that he was “driving drunk and needed help.†The man lives in the 6000 block. When police went to the residence, they found the man did not smell of alcohol; he promised to call his mother back.
Pacific Coast Highway: A caller said someone broke the window of their Nissan Frontier and stole their iPod in the 16800 block at 8:18 a.m. Sunday.
Goldenwest Street: A home improvement store employee said someone stole his bike in the 16900 block at 11:18 a.m. Sunday.
Graham Street: A caller said three men entered the side door of a bar and stole liquor and cigars in the 16700 block at 11:33 a.m. Sunday.
Algonquin Street: Two neighbors were seen fighting over who would get to drive a black Ford Mustang in the 16700 block at 3:15 p.m. Sunday.
Bolsa Chica Street: A caller said her husband’s wheelchair was stolen overnight in the 16400 block at 3:48 p.m. Sunday.
Newman Avenue: Someone reported their credit card was used fraudulently in the 7700 block at 9:33 a.m. Sunday.
Huntington Beach Bluffs: A husband and wife took their family to the beach and, when they could not find a parking space for their minivan, got into a fight and shoved each other, breaking each other’s sunglasses, at 10:01 a.m. Sunday.
Blaylock Drive: A resident called to say they were concerned about their elderly neighbor because an “awful smell†was coming from their residence in the 8000 block at 2:38 p.m. Sunday. Police determined the smell was a residue from pesticides that had been in the elderly woman’s trash can; she was in good health.
16th Street: A caller said their roommate, who was bleeding from the mouth, started a fight with the roommate in the 400 block at 1:59 a.m. Sunday.
10th Street: Six or seven naked people were seen in a pool in the 200 block at 3:02 a.m. Sunday. The caller remarked that “since they are naked, they’re probably not staying long.â€
Pacific Coast Highway: A caller who was riding a bike had her Coach handbag stolen from the bike’s basket in the 500 block at 3:26 a.m. Sunday.
Main Street at Yorktown Avenue: A caller claimed a man forced a woman into a silver Chrysler before driving away at 11:57 a.m. Sunday. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
Main Street at 10th Street: A caller said they saw a man hit a woman while they were fighting at 1:10 p.m. Sunday. The couple told police their argument was verbal only.
California Street: A man said his girlfriend was “destroying the house†while he was trying to get her to leave in the 500 block at 1:38 p.m. Sunday.
Adams Avenue at Huntington Street: A caller said a bearded homeless man with a cart was “chasing people and very aggressive†at 2:18 p.m. Sunday.
Huntington Street at Frankfort Avenue: A caller said someone in a Toyota Corolla “purposely†hit her while she was riding her bike at 2:54 p.m. Sunday, and said she wanted to file a report. When police arrived on the scene, the woman said she didn’t want to file a report.
Aquatic Lane: Kids on a building roof were seen throwing things into traffic in the 20800 block at 1:24 a.m. Sunday.
Beach Boulevard: One of a group of drunken men who were fighting over a woman in the 21200 block at 1:37 a.m. Sunday claimed he had a gun, but later was unable to describe it to police, and then said he didn’t actually have one.
Atlanta Avenue at Brookhurst Street: Someone threw a beer bottle at a car windshield in front of a liquor store at 1:46 a.m. Sunday.
Kings Canyon Drive: A caller said that “toxic†vapors from a neighbor’s barbecue were wafting over to their residence in the 9900 block at 12:37 p.m. Sunday. The caller said the neighbors were using the fire from the barbecue to “cover their drug use,†and that they “can’t enjoy being outdoors because of the vapors.â€
Brookhurst Street: Two suspects were seen fighting outside a store in the 19100 block at 2:55 p.m. Sunday.
Brookhurst Street: People at an apartment complex pool were seen “giving beer to the kids†in the 21500 block at 3:02 p.m. Sunday.
Deervale Lane: A caller said her home and her neighbor’s home were egged in the 20200 block at 3:52 p.m. Sunday. The 14-year-old suspect’s grandmother was contacted; she said her grandson admitted to throwing the eggs, and that his “reward†was to be taken to a video game parlor.
San Felipe Street: A robbery occurred in the 18500 block at 3:35 a.m. Sunday.
Slater Avenue: Vandalism was reported at a convenience store in the 10500 block at 3:43 p.m. Sunday.
San Jacinto Street: Shots were heard in the 16400 block at 12:56 a.m. Sunday.
