Dog days of summer

It’s hard to imagine anyone not going to the beach this weekend, but if you haven’t, make some time this week. It’s about as perfect as it gets. On Monday the water was about 71 degrees, though the waves were a little flat, according to lifeguards.

The National Weather Service forecasts highs Tuesday near 81 with a calm west wind between 5 and 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Tuesday night’s low will be about 63. Expect more of the sun and high temperatures up to 79 on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday will get a little hotter, with highs up to 84.
