Ballroom dancing lessons Monday

Ballroom dancing classes will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Mondays until Aug. 3 at the Susi Q Senior Center, 380 Third St. The cost is $5 per session.

Couples or singles are welcome (a partner is not required). Participants will have the opportunity to vote on what dances to learn. All styles, from slow to quick, ballroom to Latin, will be offered.

The class is taught by Candi Davis, who has 35 years of experience.

Davis currently teaches at several senior centers in Orange and Los Angeles Counties.

Floral design class offered at center

A floral design class will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Mondays from July 6 to Aug. 3 at the Susi Q Senior Center.

Participants will learn to design an arrangement each week to take home from Debby Neville, of the Interior Designers Institute.

The cost is $100 paid in advance for five classes and a $25 supply fee per class.

Susi Q Book Club to meet first Thursdays

The Susi Q Book Club will meet from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, July 2 to discuss Bernard Schlink’s “The Reader.” The moderator is Judy Shields.

This group meets the first Thursday of each month.
