Man gets 15 months for impersonating officer

Huntington Beach private investigator Andrew Paul Delio has been sentenced in U.S. District Court to 15 months in prison for impersonating a federal officer and wire fraud, court records indicate. He also was accused of mail fraud.

Delio, 44, claimed to be a federal officer with a nonexistent agency while selling equipment to police agencies for a company he represented; he also claimed to be a military veteran, according to court records. He also used falsified credentials to gain entry to federal buildings.

Delio was convicted of making similar claims in the past.

He will pay $16,000 in restitution and will be placed on three years of supervision when he is released from prison, according to court records.
