The Friends of Dorothy Guild of AIDS Services Foundation Orange County raised $46,000 during its second annual fashion show, Macy’s Impulse for Spring Fashion, presented by Macy’s South Coast Plaza on Thursday, June 11 from 6-9 p.m. The Guild was founded by Barbara Venezia in 2007, and to date it has contributed nearly $250,000 to ASF. The show was held in Macy’s Impulse Department, and offered a tantalizing selection for men and women that represented many of Macy’s top designers – all modeled by 12 of the ‘hautest’ stars from the celebrated Otto Modeling Agency in Los Angeles. Guests enjoyed a dinner buffet, refreshments, a D.J. to fire-up the energy who segued to the performance by Men Alive, Orange County’s Gay Men’s Chorus. The Chorus sang during the fashion show. Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens served as honorary chair. Also on hand were Macy’s South Coast Plaza Vice President and Store Manager Sue Graham, ASF Board President Maria Marquez, Executive Director Phil Yaeger and Board Vice-President and The Friends of Dorothy Guild Founder and Chair Barbara Venezia.
Venezia introduced Sheriff Huchens, who noted, “… just as our department is dedicated to the protection of all we serve, The Friends of Dorothy is committed to the care and well-being of those served by ASF. These difficult economic times provide an extraordinary opportunity for all of us to reach out to those who need assistance ….”
