With the price of gas climbing as we head into summer and talks of a high-speed rail on the minds of many California residents, UCI is hosting a dinner that may provide some insight.

Beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday at UCI’s University Club, economics professor Jan Brueckner will present “Planes, Trains and Automobiles,” a talk on the future of passenger transportation.

With the passenger transportation industry in flux from increasing fuel prices and economic hardship, Brueckner will address the complexities around the issues, officials said.
