Huntington Beach fourth-grader Sam Pruette will receive recognition for winning an essay contest from the Quality West Wing Foundation at an award ceremony Friday.
The event will honor Sam for his essay on how he can be an active part of the government. The yearly contest is put on by the Quality West Wing Foundation, a small museum in Corona dedicated to U.S. history, government and the presidency.
The essay also asked students what they learned during their visit to the museum.
The award ceremony will take place at Sam’s school, Grace Lutheran School, at 1 p.m. He will be receiving $50 gift cards to Target and Quality West Wing Memorabilia.
