Police are looking for a man who robbed a Newport Beach bank Friday afternoon and apparently made no effort to disguise his appearance.
About 12:50 p.m. Friday, officials said a man walked into Wachovia Bank, 3600 E. Coast Hwy., and gave a note to a bank teller demanding money and claiming he had a gun.
No one saw the man carrying a weapon, Sgt. Evan Sailor said.
The teller complied and gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash and walked out, Sailor said.
He is described as a white man, 50 to 60 years old, 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-5 wearing dark blue slacks and dark shoes.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s name or whereabouts can contact the Newport Beach Police Department at (800) 550-NBPD.
