South Huntington Beach 8-U Silver All Stars claim victory

The South Huntington Beach 8 and under Silver All Star team claimed their first postseason title this past weekend at the 10th annual Oceanside Riptide softball tournament in Vista, Ca.
Two days of fierce competition saw South Huntington Beach defeat North Shore (8-4), Rancho Trabuco (4-3) and Oceanside (16-5) in pool play.
Those three victories earned the team a No. 1 seed going into bracket play. They opened Sunday with a second win over North Shore. This time by a 13-2 score.
In the championship game, the girls played their hearts out in the heat and finished strong to take the victory with a 15-8 win over Rancho Trabuco.
The South Huntington Beach Girls Fastpitch Softball 8-U Silver team is represented by Danielle Craft, Taylor Franklin, Marlene Friedman, Aly Fullbright, Emily Gray, Amanda Hadley, Scotty McGee, Mikaila Pancino, Ashley Papacosta, Sage Royston, Serena Starks and Sophia Woolsey. The team is led by Head Coach, Kevin Craft and Assistant Coaches, Van Starks, Mark Fullbright, Jim McGee and Eric Papacosta.
