DUI checkpoint lands in Costa Mesa
Police will conduct a DUI checkpoint in Costa Mesa on Friday night until early Saturday.
From 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., Costa Mesa police will screen drivers on northbound Newport Boulevard at 22nd Street to educate drivers about the dangers of drinking and driving and driving without a valid license.
Police say the most effective way to prevent traffic-related injuries is to not drink and drive. Authorities are asking for the public’s help this weekend to report drunk drivers.
Funding for the DUI checkpoint is provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety.
