Orange Empire Conference finals
CHINO HILLS — Orange Coast College finished third in the five-team event Monday at Los Serranos Golf Course, earning a chance to advance and compete in the Southern California regionals.
OCC freshman Marcus Sostak-Rosa, an Estancia High product, shot five-over-par 77 on the North Course and four-under 70 on the South Course to pace the Pirates.
Orange Coast shot 749 as a team, well back of victorious Palomar. Santiago Canyon was second, nine shots better than OCC.
Sophomore Ryan Indovina shot 73 on the North Course and 76 on the South Course, while freshman Albert Kilgore did the same for Orange Coast.
Sophomore Florencio Anadon shot 77-76, freshman Joe Doody shot 78-77 and freshman Kord Tagley carded rounds of 74-79, on the North and South courses, respectively.
The Pirates will vie in the regionals Monday at Marshallia Ranch Golf Course in Lompoc.
