COSTA MESA — The Orange Coast College men’s and women’s teams both finished second behind Riverside Friday at OCC.
The OCC men scored 243 points, behind Riverside’s 308. The Tigers had 317 points on the women’s side and the Pirates 158.
For the women, OCC’s Cassie Mitchell won three events, including the 800 meters in 2 minutes, 17.27 seconds, the 1,500 in 4:39.63 and the 5,000 in 18:22.06.
Luis Gallardo was second in the 800 for the men, finishing 1:57.67.

STOCKTON — Senior Gianna Rossi scored four goals to pace the No. 3-seeded Anteaters in the quarterfinals of the inaugural Bug West Confernce Championship Friday.
UCI (21-9), which had four goals by Gianna Rossi, faces No. 2-seeded UC Davis today at 5:45 p.m. in one semifinal.
