Fanning’s walk for Tillman ends in Huntington Beach

Rory Fanning, a banker from Chicago, is walking across the country to raise money for the Pat Tillman Foundation.
The walk, which began in Virginia Beach, Va., in September, is scheduled to end in Huntington Beach on a to-be-determined date.
Fanning was a friend of Tillman when both were in the Army Rangers following the 9/11 attacks.
Tillman, who left the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals to serve, was killed in Afghanistan in April, 2004 reportedly by friendly fire.
Fanning hopes to raise $3.6 million for Tillman’s foundation, which is the amount Tillman gave up when he joined the Rangers.
Fanning, who carries a GPS, made it to Arizona and has been stopping to talk at schools and to various organizations.
