Ammerman well-rounded in UCI’s sweep at Stanford

STANFORD — Senior setter Ryan Ammerman had 53 assists, six blocks, three aces and four kills to help lead the top-ranked UC Irvine men’s volleyball team to a 30-28, 30-24, 30-22 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation win against No. 4-ranked Stanford at Maples Pavilion Friday night.
UCI (23-4, 18-3 in the MPSF) posted a .457 (58-10-105) hitting percentage, the third best offensive attack this season. Redshirt freshman Carson Clark had a double-double with 16 kills and 10 digs while hitting .481 (16-3-27) and firing three aces. Senior Taylor Wilson totaled 15 kills, hit .406 (15-2-32) and added six digs and four blocks. Jordan DuFault, continued his hot-hitting with a .611 mark, recording 12 kills in 18 attempts with just one error.
