CORONA DEL MAR — Chris Damion swept his No. 2 singles sets, helping the Sea Kings, ranked No. 9 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll, upset No. 5-ranked Peninsula Wednesday.

In No. 1 doubles, Parker Rhodes and Matt Fisher won for CdM (10-3). Pierce Stemler and Alex Murray were winners in No. 2 doubles.

Sage Hill 11, Tesoro 7

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA — Alex Koeberle swept No. 1 singles action Wednesday, lifting the Lightning past Tesoro for the first time, said Coach A.G. Longoria.

Sage Hill (11-4), ranked No. 5 in the CIF Southern Section Division IV coaches’ poll, pulled off the win despite having Troy Astorino and Kevin Wang out.

The Lightning return to Academy League action next week against Oxford, Whitney and rival St. Margaret’s.

Beckman 44

CORONA DEL MAR — Sebastien Welch placed first in the 800 meters in 2 minutes, 10.8 seconds and the 1600 in 4:44.3, and he anchored the winning 4x400 relay team in the Sea Kings’ Pacific Coast League meet Wednesday.

Brent Gray won the 100 (10.8) and the 200 (22.7) meter events.

Blaine Bolus claimed the long jump (20 feet, 2 inches), triple jump (40-11) and the high jump (6-2) events.

GIRLS’ TRACK AND FIELD

Beckman 44

CORONA DEL MAR — Jaycee Olsen won the 200 meters in 26.7 seconds and the shot put with a mark of 31 feet, 1 inch during the Sea Kings’ Pacific Coast League meet Wednesday.

Kayla Marolt placed first in the high jump (4-10) and long jump (14-9) events.

Jessica Imani won the discus throw with a 104-0 heave.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

Newport Harbor 15,

Tustin 2

TUSTIN — Riley Robinson and Jake Turner scored three goals each for the Sailors in the Sunset League game Wednesday.

Robinson added one assist. Tommy Hanrahan had two goals and three assists and Spencer Baratto added two goals and two assists for Newport Harbor (7-3, 4-1 in league.

The Sailors controlled the pace of the game with strong ball possession, led by Jeremy Faber, Dylan Gray, Cory Turner and Andrew Wilson.
