COSTA MESA — Senior Mikey Molina went two for four with two runs batted in as the Mustangs improved to 5-0 in Orange Coast League play Tuesday.
Nick Pederson improved to 3-2 after striking out six batters in five innings. He also went one for two with two RBIs.
Costa Mesa (11-5) plays at Sierra Vista of Baldwin Park Thursday at 3:15 p.m.

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Erik Heimstaedt swept at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-0, 6-1, for the Sailors in the Sunset League match Tuesday.
Craig McKennon and Greg Brostek swept at No. 2 doubles, while Josh Tuz and Jason Cerius also won three sets at No. 3 doubles, dropping just one game for Newport Harbor (7-3 4-0 in league), which plays at Fountain Valley Thursday.

CORONA DEL MAR — Ryan Peyton, Shane Korber and Chris Damion combined to win eight singles sets for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League match Tuesday.
CdM (9-3, 3-1 in league) swept in doubles. Sea Kings junior Pierce Stemler played with three different partners in doubles and won, 6-3, 6-1, 6-0.
CdM, ranked No. 9 in CIF Southern Section Division I, plays host to No. 5-ranked Peninsula today at 3 p.m.

NEWPORT BEACH — Junior Blake Kelly won the 100 freestyle in 48.34 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 1 minute, 3.67 seconds, helping the Sailors improve to 3-0 in Sunset League action Tuesday.
Zach Lucas placed second in the 500 freestyle (4:52.36) and did well in the 200 freestyle (1:48.70)
Ikaika Sarme won the 50 freestyle in 21.77.
Newport Harbor plays host to Corona del Mar in the Battle of the Bay Thursday at 3 p.m.

COSTA MESA — The Eagles’ Asher Twardowski and Wes Barloon both won an event that they were competing in for the first time this season in the nonleague meet Tuesday.
Twardowski won the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 28.91 seconds. Barloon won the 100 freestyle in 55:36. Miguel Arteaga won the 500 free in 6:35.24 for Estancia (7-3).

NEWPORT BEACH — Freshman Maddy McLaren won the 200 freestyle in 2 minutes, 1.77 seconds during the Sailors’ Sunset League meet Tuesday.
Kate Klippert placed second in the 50 freestyle (25.06) for Newport (2-1 in league).

HUNTINGTON BEACH — The Chargers had the medalist, but junior Travis Russell shot a one-over par 37 to help the Sailors to victory in the Sunset League match Tuesday at SeaCliff Country Club.
Also scoring for Newport Harbor (10-3-1, 3-1 in league) were Zach Eddy (39), Mychael Clark, Kawika Morse and Erickson Klein (all 41).

NEWPORT BEACH — The Sea Kings’ Mike Moorhead shot two-over-par-37 to be one of three medalists in the Pacific Coast League match at Newport Beach Country Club Thursday.
Camden Nicholson and Jonathan Keedy both shot 38, Ryan Grable carded a 39 and Brian Mull finished with 40 for Corona del Mar (10-1, 5-0 in league).

Tommy Hanrahan added two goals and three assists, while Jake Turner had two goals and two assists for Newport Harbor (6-3).
Riley Robinson and Spencer Baratto contributed two goals and one assist each, and Daniel Apple had two goals.
The Sailors play at Tustin today.
