C.M.A.L.L. MAJORS
The Costa Mesa American Little League Red Sox are a team of winners!
Even when the Sox are down in a game, they keep on encouraging one another. They do not seem to get rattled, they keep giving 100% throughout the game. This attitude has brought them from behind in a few games this year to win the game in the final innings.
This attitude comes from the top, Manager Chris Cox, Coach Jared Johnson and Coach Mike Jarboe. Although very competitive natures, their goal is for the kids to have fun and learn teamwork. They are accomplishing this task perfectly.
The Sox are five wins and four losses. That is with the last two games playing without Dorian Navarrette “Poppy,” 3rd base, pitcher and utility player, who swings a BIG bat. Out with stitches in his foot. Alex Herrera, another star player also a pitcher / shortstop and first up in the batting order because of his consistent contact with the ball.
Alex was back for Saturdays game against the American League Dodgers. The Red Sox were on fire today in their 8 – 1 win over the Dodgers
A.J. Axtell caught a great game. A.J. is hitting the ball consistently.
Adam Bernacchi pitched a strong 5 innings and nearly knocked the stitches off the ball. With 2 that hit the center field fence.
James Barton played left field. The last game against the C.A.M.L.L. Angels, James bunted for a inside the park home run and 2 R.B.I.’s !
Joey Cox, Pitcher and player of all positions. Joey’s bat is starting to come alive.
Mike Jarboe, 3rd base, and playing some good ball.
Jared Johnson, with a couple great plays in center field, and some big time hustle. Jared has some real speed on the bases.
Anthony Madrid, Anthony’s bat is going to come alive in the next game or two. There is no stopping him when this happens, and it will happen.
Garret Spady, Garret gives it 110% every game. A real spark plug for the team.
Liam Shillington, Pitcher and great utility player. Liam’s bat has come alive today.
Wyatt Semas, “Clutch,” plays the out field. Wyatt is known for his hustle on offense and defense. He has also come through with some game winning, timely hits. Hints the nick name “clutch”.
