Dale Dixon

September 18, 1948 – March 29, 2009

Dale passed unexpectedly on March

29, 2009 in the small village of San

Juanico, Mexico, after a brief illness.

Her death is contrary to what any of

us can believe; she was a fun-loving

person of extraordinary energy,

who was always going full throttle at

whatever she did. We pray that she didn’t suffer and will always

regret that we were not able to be at her side. We have comfort

in knowing that she was with friends who loved her and was

laid to final rest in her beloved Mexico.

Dale grew up in Costa Mesa and was a graduate of Newport

Harbor High Class of 1967. She went on to Orange Coast

College where she was a song leader. Dale was always very

athletic and very active. She was an expert skier and later in

life fell in love with the beaches of Mexico and surfing. She

was gifted in so many ways – very artistic, creative, funny,

passionate – and beautiful on top of it all.

She married Lindsey Fisher of Santa Barbara and they have

three fantastic kids – Ryan Fisher, Ross Fisher and Tracey

Fisher. Fortunately, all of Dale’s children inherited her

intelligence, zest for life and powerful determination to set and

achieve lofty goals. Thank you Dale, you did good.

We will always remember the good times we had and keep

those memories in our hearts forever. Dale had the spirit

and heart of a prize fighter, but ultimately, her body was too

weak to fight the illness within her. In spite of how hard it was

sometimes to live with Dale – now we all wonder, how can

we live without her? We can only wish now for Dale what we

wish for ourselves - we hope you got to heaven before the devil

found out you were gone.

Dale was surrounded by her extended family and friends in

Mexico on March 31, 2009 at her final resting place. After

the ceremony, a parade of cars drove along the beach blasting

music by “The Beach Boys.” We all loved you Dale and will

think of the good times every day. As your son Ross stated so

eloquently, “I will miss you forever. I hope you get stoked and

make lots of clean turns in heaven. Thanks for riding

with me.”
