James, Holmes, Garrity earn first-team nods
Marina High senior Garrett James and junior Brendan Holmes, as well as Edison sophomore Dylan Garrity, have been named first-team All-Sunset League for boys’ basketball.
Holmes, a guard, led the league with his 22.3 points per game scoring average and made a team-high 112 three-pointers. James, also a guard, averaged 17.8 points and 7.6 assists.
Garrity averaged 16.1 points for the Chargers.
Marina, which finished second in league, was 23-7 overall and advanced to the semifinals of the CIF Southern Section Division II-AA playoffs before losing to eventual champion Thousand Oaks. Edison (18-11) finished third in league and fell to Thousand Oaks in the playoff semifinals.
Second-team All-Sunset League honorees included Fountain Valley seniors Niles Marquez and Chris Lee.
